Six of Australia’s hottest music groups to perform at new Toowoomba festival

Australia’s hottest acts are heading to Toowoomba later this year, one of the stops for a new regional festival. These are the six acts who will headline.

Massive Australian artists are heading to Toowoomba later this year, as part of a new regional touring festival.

Last week Toowoomba dates were announced for the Fresh Produce festival, which arrives in the Garden City on September 3 and 4.

Triple J stars G Flip, Cosmo’s Midnight and Spacey Jane are set to headline at the showgrounds on Friday night, while Lime Cordiale, Mallrat and Hooligan Hefs are just a few of the acts that will grace the stage on Saturday.

Georgia Flipo, who performs as G Flip, is a breakout musician and singer-songwriter based in Melbourne.

Three of her tunes landed on the Triple J Hottest 100 for 2020, including a cover of Lady Marmalade at number 78, You & I at number 44, and Hyperfine at number 7.

She will perform on the same night as Spacey Jane, a Perth-based indie rock group coming off the back of a huge 2020.

The band’s debut studio album Sunlight debuted at number two on the ARIA Albums Chart when it was released in June last year.

Their popular tune Booster Seat also came in runner-up in the Triple J Hottest 100 for 2020.

Electronic duo Cosmo’s Midnight – consisting of twin brothers Cosmo and Patrick Liney – has been making tunes since 2012, releasing their second studio album Yesteryear in the back half of 2020.

Surf rockers Lime Cordiale are another band heading to Toowoomba on the back of a massive 2020.

The band’s second album 14 Steps to a Better You, released in July last year, reached number one on the ARIA Album Charts and landed the group – fronted by brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach – five spots in the Triple J Hottest 100 for 2020.

Mallrat.
Mallrat.

Brisbane-based musician and rapper Mallrat will also perform on the Saturday night, along with Sydney-based hip-hop musician Hooligan Hefs.

Mallrat released her latest EP Driving Music in 2019 and scored the number three spot in the 2019 Triple J Hottest 100 with hit track Charlie.

Western Sydney rapper Hooligan Hefs has been performing since 2017, releasing his debut EP Living in Sin in August last year.

The Australian musicians will be backed up by local arts JK-47, Jaguar Jonze, Lavanda, Taleena and Reggie Gray.

Fresh Produce will have a single-stage outdoor set-up with the ability to seat the audience in necessary, to accommodate for any COVID-19 restrictions.

The limited-capacity show is funded by the Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand, a Federal Government initiative.

Tickets to Fresh Produce go on sale at 9am on Thursday, February 18 via Moshtix.

Single concert and weekend tickets will be available.
