It’s been four fruity, hop-filled years since Toowoomba’s 4 Brothers Brewery opened its doors on Brook Street to thirsty beer connoisseurs.

Since 2017 the independent microbrewery has grown from strength to strength, producing a variety of award-winning small batch handcrafted beers and surviving a global pandemic in the process.

The brewery’s managing director Adrian Cubit said after a difficult year a successful business was something to celebrate.

And that’s just what the business plans to do this weekend, with food trucks on-site and a special celebratory stout on offer.

“Around sixty per cent of all businesses fail within the first three years of operation, and with the hospitality shutdowns during COVID-19 the industry really struggled,” he said.

“We are so grateful for our loyal patrons who have continued to support us during this time.”

The birthday cellar-brations will kick off on Friday, April 23 with Hot Slice wood-fired pizza on offer to complement the six locally-brewed beers on tap/

On Saturday, April 24 Chef’s Lab will provide tasty lunchtime feeds late into the afternoon.

This birthday will be a mixed barrel of emotions for the team, which will be the second last one to be held at the current venue before the taproom moves to Margaret Street in Toowoomba’s CBD this June.

The inner city shift has been in the works for several months now, and Mr Cubit said while it was going to be bittersweet to leave behind the founding location where everything started, the brewery was looking forward to what the future had in store.

“We will also be holding a farewell Brook Street event in May so stay tuned for that,” he said.
