Young Toowoomba mum Kimberley Anderson is looking forward to progressing her career in the beauty industry, thanks to help from the St Vincent de Paul Society Toowoomba scholarship program.

Ms Anderson was one of five recipients awarded a scholarship at an event on Wednesday.

She now plans to use the funds to purchase much needed equipment for the course.

“I’m doing a Cert 3 in barbering at TAFE, something I only just started this year,” Ms Anderson said.

“At the moment, all of my barbering equipment costs a lot, all of the scissors and combs – so this will help to purchase the equipment.”

St Vincent de Paul Society started the program in 2019, and has help from community groups and local businesses who have joined as sponsors.
