The Toowoomba region is well on its way to experiencing a month’s worth of rain in the next few days with a wet, grey weekend on the cards.
Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Shane Kennedy said light showers could turn into a thunderstorm over the weekend.
“It’s likely to be fairly wet and rainfall will be in the five to 25mm range.
“It’ll be a little bit heavier around Miles and Chinchilla.
“There will also be isolated falls in those 20-30mm range and a chance of thunderstorm in the afternoon.”
Moving further into the weekend, conditions are expected to clear with only small amounts of rainfall predicted, with only one or two millimetres predicted.
Mr Kennedy said Monday was expected to be clear with no rainfall anticipated for the region.
Overnight temperatures will sit on the lower end of the scale, with a chance of frost predicted for the beginning of the week as the cloud begins to clear up, and cooler air pushes through.
Toowoomba is expected to reach a maximum of 15 degrees on Saturday.
