Darling Downs Beetle lovers will be disappointed to learn the annual beloved Toowoomba car event Dubs on the Hill has been cancelled due to COVID restriction uncertainty.
Klub VW Darling Downs president Neil Batterham said it broke the committee members’ hearts to make the decision not to go ahead this year.
“It is devastating but we feel this is in the best interest of our members and patrons,” he said.
“After six successful shows, an Australia Day Award and being a finalist for a Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce Tourism Award, Klub VW has striven to make Dubs On The Hill the best event possible.
“Who would have thought our humble car show would grow to attract over 180 cars, 40 market stalls and thousands of people?”
This year’s Volkswagen show, shine and swap was due to be held on Sunday, March 14 but the event has now been cancelled until March 2022.
“We are already planning for next year’s event and we will have an exciting new announcement coming out soon that we think all of our members and followers will all love,” Mr Batterham said.
“Stay safe and catch you in March 2022.”
