Laptops and other items have been stolen from a school during a brazen daytime break in.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 1pm and 2.30pm at the Holberton campus and was reported to police later that evening.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said initial reports suggested the offenders had used rocks and a scooter to smash the glass door of one of the rooms, before unlocking it.

They then had taken some laptops and laptop bags from the space before leaving the scene.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.
