AFTER a year of twists and turns, Darling Downs Christian School students had their chance to shine on Wednesday night at their school formal.
Dressed in classic styles and intricate designs, the students arrived at Gip's Restaurant just before sunset for the occasion, some with partners from other schools in the area.
Instead of a red carpet, the couples were snapped on the picturesque driveway, framed by manicured hedges.
Some of the usual features of the formal had been impacted by COVID-19 restrictions, but the students still arrived in style in an array of exotic vehicles, which included a modified BMW, Mustangs of various colours and a Porsche.
A small group of parents and friends gathered to watch their arrival, standing in socially distanced groups.
The last to arrive was student Travis Booth, who amused the crowd with his dirt-bike antics.
Parents and friends expressed their delight on a formal post on the Darling Downs Christian School's Facebook page.
"All looking glamorous," one person wrote.
The students celebrated the end of term three yesterday with a staff breakfast for the Year 12s.
