Firefighters have managed to quickly contain a house fire that broke out in the Toowoomba suburb of Newtown on Thursday night.
Crews were called to the scene of the Albert Street blaze about 7.30pm, where they found a fire well involved in the laundry and outdoor toilet area of the property.
They quickly contained the fire, and managed to reduce damage to just the back of the old timber weatherboard home.
The remainder of the home suffered some smoke damage.
Stations officer Peter Werder on Thursday night said they had not determined whether anyone was home at the time.
