More details revealed about fatal Leichhardt Highway crash near Taroom
A man died after a prime mover and ute, towing a caravan, collided on a major inland Queensland highway.

Police have released more details about a fatal traffic crash on the Leichhardt Highway yesterday.
“A 44-year-old Goondiwindi man has died following a two-vehicle traffic crash near Taroom,” a police spokesperson said.
“Preliminary investigations indicate around 9.10am a Nissan utility towing a caravan was travelling north along the Leichhardt Highway towards Taroom.
“A prime mover also travelling north, began overtaking the utility when the two vehicles collided and crashed off the roadway.
“The driver and sole occupant of the utility was declared deceased at the scene.”
The spokesperson said the 39-year-old male driver of the prime mover was not seriously injured.
“The Forensic Crash Unit from Roma is investigating the incident,” they said.
