Large oil spill caused by road crash: multiple vehicle crashes across the southwest
A crash that involved five people caused a large oil spill on the Warrego Hwy and wreaked havoc on traffic. Sadly it was not the only accident in the southwest to send a person to hospital.

A two-vehicle accident involving five people caused a large oil spill on the Warrego Highway at Hatton Vale east of Toowoomba on Saturday morning.
The collision at the intersection of Fairway Dr and the highway about 10am caused the spill, wreaking havoc on traffic as emergency services rushed to clean the oil off the road and treat one woman injured.
The highway’s west-bound lanes were reduced for a period.
The woman in her 20s was taken to Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition with an arm injury.
The four other people involved in the accident were checked over by paramedics.
It follows another crash east of Toowoomba at Laidley on Saturday.
A QPS spokesperson said a Toyota LandCruiser towing a trailer collided with a power pole and a parked vehicle with a trailer hooked up to it on Edward St about 9.30am.
No one was trapped and paramedics did not need to assess anyone for injuries.
However, a teenage boy had to be rushed to hospital on Friday evening after they suffered head injuries in a vehicle rollover.
The single-vehicle crash happened on Cubbie Rd and emergency services were called about 9.30pm on May 17.
The male teen was taken to Dirranbandi Hospital in a stable condition, according to the Queensland Ambulance Service.
