Human remains found at farm as Shaun Smoothy charged with Paul Wood’s alleged murder
UPDATE: Likely human remains have been uncovered in the investigation into a Hampton man’s disappearance.
Human remains have been uncovered at a Toowoomba region farm where searches for a missing Hampton man were conducted.
Mr Woods, 48, is believed to have disappeared in early October and was reported missing to police on October 14.
He was last seen riding an unregistered blue and white Yamaha 450 motorbike on the afternoon of October 5, travelling between the Hampton and Cressbrook Creek area.
Police advised media Mr Wood’s disappearance was out of character and inquiries had led them to believe he was murdered.
It is understood the property where the likely remains were found was frequented by Mr Smoothy.
Mr Smoothy has yet to enter a plea to the charges and remains in police custody awaiting his next court appearance.
Police are still yet to formally identify the remains and investigations into Mr Wood’s disappearance continue.
Anyone with further information, including dashcam footage, in relation to Mr Woods or the movement of an unregistered blue and white Yamaha motorbike between October 5 to 6 in the Hampton, Crows Nest and Cressbrook Creek area is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
