A TOOWOOMBA woman is hosting a unique collaborative garage sale, to raise funds for a children’s charity.
Amie Johnson is bringing people together to sell their unwanted goods at the Collective Clearout.
The idea being it’s one giant garage sale, so people can come along and shop preloved goods all at the one location.
Ms Johnson is hosting the event because she is raising funds for Variety The Children’s Charity and hopes to be able to donate $5000 by the time the organisation’s 2022 Variety 4WD Adventure rolls around next May.
The Variety Bash is a fully-supported journey which takes teams on a different adventure around Australia every year.
In 2022 they’re exploring Cape York and Far North Queensland along some of Australia’s best 4WD tracks.
Ms Johnson said participating in the Variety Bash had always been on her bucket list.
“The trip sounds amazing and the participants look like they have so much fun,” she said.
“I didn’t want to miss out on a once in a lifetime adventure, so I signed up.
“The charity does amazing things for children so supporting this worthy cause was an easy decision.”
The Collective Clearout will be held on Saturday, May 22 from 8am to 1pm at the Brothers Toowoomba Rugby League at 175 Hursley Rd.
It is gold coin entry and there will also be bake stalls, a sausage sizzle and raffles at the Collective Clearout and all funds raised will be donated.
Ms Johnson said she planned to host other events through the year as well.
Cost for a stall is $35 and anyone can apply to be a stallholder, but applications must be submitted as soon as possible.
