New Aldi opens at Highfields

After months of anticipation, the new Highfields ALDI opened to the public on Sunday morning.

By 10.30am, the store was packed with happy shoppers, some of whom had been keeping tabs on its progress for months.

“I have been waiting for this moment,” Highfields customer Eshel Reich said.

“When I looked it up online there were rumours on the community discussion board about when it would be coming (to Highfields).

“This store means I won’t have to go to Coles or Woolworths for the little things – it will change the way people shop for sure.”

For Highfields mum Melissa Czislowski, the new store meant she no longer had to travel into Toowoomba to do her ALDI shop.

“It’s so convenient – now it’s local, you can pop in and get your freezer stuff before heading home,” Ms Czislowski said.

“I think this will be great for the community, it’s certainly got a good range and prices.

“We were here when the store first opened this morning and there was a line-up.”

The new ALDI Highfields features a number of recently introduced innovations said to offer an enhanced shopping experience for customers.

New features include redesigned shelving, expanded wooden produce bays as well as energy efficient chillers.

The store rolled out some special buys for its opening, which included Christmas products, and inflatable water park game, kids toys and books and 65 inch Bauhn smart TV.
