Aldi Special Buys: $25 wine cooler bag sparks frenzy

German discount supermarket chain Aldi is bringing back a cult Special Buys item for summer – and it’s just in time for the silly season.

It’s safe to say 2020 has been a year – which is why Aldi’s plans to release a cult Special Buys item couldn’t come at a better time.

The German supermarket chain is bringing back its stylish summer tote, which not only comes in two cute new patterns, but also boasts a secret function.

The $25 item comes with a removable drink pouch which can be dispensed straight from the side of the bag.

Even better the drink pouch is insulated, meaning you can keep your wine (or other drink of choice) crisp and cool as you dispense to your heart’s delight.

Aldi’s wine cooler bag is back.

Besides being able to dispense your drink of choice, the bag also has multiple storage compartments.

It comes in a turquoise leaf design or blue and white Hamptons-style pattern, meaning you’re all set for your next picnic.

The wine dispenser bag doesn’t hit Aldi until Saturday December 19 but it hasn’t stopped shoppers from buzzing about purchasing the cult item.

“No words needed,” one woman wrote in the Aldi Mums Facebook group about her excitement for the “awesome” wine cooler bag.

Another person joked that it would be her “new work bag”, while others who had previously purchased the Special Buys item said it was “the best”.

It comes in two new patterns, making it the perfect picnic bag.

“Does it come in a backpack? I can carry more weight on my back,” one curious mum asked.

“I need this,” one shopper wrote, while another quipped: “Discreet and classy.”

The Aldi wine bag caused a similar stir when it was released this time last year, with fans of the item joking it was the perfect purchase “for the stylish bogan”.

“The essential item for park playdates,” another wrote.

ALDI SELLING ‘BEST ADVENT CALENDAR INVENTED’

If you’re looking for some wine to fill up your cooler bag then Aldi also has you sorted, with the supermarket bringing back its wine advent calendars last month.

The discount supermarket chain brought back its famous 24 Days of Celebration Wine Advent Calendar that features 24 mini bottles of wine containing enough for a glass each for you and a loved one.

Aldi brought back its popular wine advent calendar last month.

Costing $89.99, this wine calendar has been a consistent bestseller item for the supermarket, with Aldi fans labelling it the “best advent calendar invented”.

This year Aldi also added a second version, the 12 Nights of Wine Tubes Advent Calendar.

The $49.99 calendar will include 12 100ml tubes of international wines complete with a recommended tasting menu so you can best enjoy each tipple.

Aldi’s wine buyer Jason Bowyer said 12 Nights of Wine Tubes Advent Calendar was a world first for the supermarket chain.

“For such an affordable price, we know this advent calendar will provide our customers with a little daily indulgence during a busy festive season,” he said.
