A Toowoomba event is sure to get residents into the Christmas spirit with the Festive Twilight Market.
The market will be held at the Mills Precinct on Saturday, December 12 from 4pm until 9pm and will be a showcase of handmade Christmas gifts, with 60 stallholders offering a wide range of items, as well as 10 food vendors, performing solo artists, kids activities and there will also be a visit from Santa.
It is being run by The Makers Market and its new owner Kelly Prentice said it was a family friendly event with vendors catering for everyone.
“It’s been a difficult year for everyone and buying locally strengthens communities,” she said.
“Local purchases keep the wealth in our neighbourhoods, increasing the prosperity for the people around us instead of going to a faraway corporation.”
“Stallholders are selling everything from bath products, candles, earrings, paintings and art pieces, homemade cookies, fudges and treats, wooden handcrafted products, Christmas decorations and even treats for your special pets.
“Vendors will also have Christmas gift packs available, so it’s the perfect opportunity to get someone that extra special gift.
“Stalls will be both inside and outside on the grassed area, with the food vendors in-between.”
The Festive Twilight Market is an extension of the Makers Market which is held every second and fourth Sunday of the month.
Mrs Prentice only took over the markets in October but is so far loving it.
She also runs her own small business called Pure Essential Living which offers a range of bath and body products including bath bombs, bath salts, soaps and moisturisers, using only essential oils.
Between the three, Mrs Prentice is very busy but said she was passionate about supporting other small businesses in town.
