For performers Cassie Webb and Daisy McCormack, getting up on stage at the Toowoomba Eisteddfod is less about winning and more about transforming into a totally new person.

Day four of the eisteddfod invited choral, speech and drama performers to the stage of the Empire Theatre.

Drama duo Cassie and Daisy won their category for reciting a poem about an annoying little brother.

The dream team said getting up on stage and making the audience laugh was the most rewarding part of the competition.

“I just like performing,” Cassie said.

“It’s fun.”

“I like performing because you can be a totally different person,” Daisy said.

“You can do whatever you want.”

The final few days of the eisteddfod will host other choral and drama groups and soloists.
