Jessica Greig has been remembered as a dedicated mother and nurse who lived for her family.

Her daughter Giselle, 12, was a kind soul with a love for life and dreams of one day joining the army.

Sadly, both women died when the SUV they were travelling in collided with a truck on Toowoomba-Cecil Plains road on July 8.

The force of the impact sent their vehicle rolling through a nearby paddock.

It also left dad Alex with a life-threatening head injury and he remains in a critical condition at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Their two young children, Jett, 10, and Oceana suffered minor injuries.

The family now faces a long road to recovery and that burden has fallen to Jessica’s parents.

Friends of the family have established a GoFundMe campaign to collect donations to help with funeral costs and Alex’s ongoing and lengthy medical expenses.

The leaders at Giselle Greig’s high school, Victory College, paid tribute to the 12-year-old girl after she died in a traffic crash at Mt Irving.

“Jess’ family have come together and are providing love and care for Jess’ two surviving children, however these children have no parents left able to care for them or provide for them and the bills keep coming in,” campaign organiser Carolyn Elder said.

“These poor babies have had their whole world turned upside down and are going to need ongoing care and support.

“Please come together as a community and help the (grandparents) not only lay their daughter and granddaughter to rest, but also help them to be able to provide for their surviving grandchildren.”

The campaign gathered more than $9000 in its first 12 hours.
