A Christmas event at Queens Park could have ended disastrously after a four year old boy was transported to Toowoomba Hospital shortly after the event finished.

It is understood the young boy was leaving the park when he hit the side of a slow-moving vehicle.

Paramedics attended the vehicle and pedestrian incident on Lindsay and Arthur Streets in East Toowoomba at about 9pm Sunday night.

The boy did not have serious injuries, and was transported to hospital for further observation

A Queensland Police spokesman confirmed they are investigating the incident.
