Children hospitalised after CBD crash

Two children and a woman have been taken to hospital after the car they were in crashed into a light pole in Toowoomba’s CBD on Saturday night.

The incident on Ruthven Street, between Scouts Way and Herries Street, was first reported to emergency services about 7.30pm.

Initial details suggested the car had crashed into a shopfront, but this was revealed to be a light pole.

Police say the incident brought down nearby powerlines, with Ruthven Street blocked off for some time while Ergon crews made the scene safe.

The woman and two children were treated for minor injuries by paramedics and taken to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

Horse rider hospitalised after fall

A fall from a horse on a rural property outside Toowoomba on Saturday night has left a woman with injuries in hospital.

Ambulance services were made aware of the incident on a property on Pechey-Maclagan Road at Douglas just after 6pm.

The woman was treated for back and pelvis injuries and taken to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

Woman injured after car hits horse

A middle-aged woman has been rushed to hospital with multiple injuries after the car she was in hit a horse outside Toowoomba.

The crash on Oakey Pittsworth Road at Aubigney, about half an hour from Toowoomba, was reported to emergency services on Friday just before 9.30pm.

The woman in her 50s suffered neck, chest and leg injuries and was taken in a stable condition to Toowoomba Hospital.

A male occupant was assessed by paramedics by refused a transport.

While the horse’s wellbeing is unknown, it is understood it was taken away by local farmers.

Rollover leaves men in hospital

Two men have been injured after their car rolled on a rural road east of Toowoomba on Friday night.

Emergency services were alerted to the crash on Postmans Ridge Road at Helidon Spa in the Lockyer Valley about 10.15pm.

Both men suffered head and chest injuries and were taken to Toowoomba Hospital in stable conditions.
