Three people have been transported to hospital after a serious car crash in the Toowoomba CBD this morning.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the two-vehicle crash the crash occurred at about 11.29am on the corner of Ruthven St and Long St.
A male in his 30s suffered a wrist injury, another patient reported neck pain and another was transported to hospital for precautionary measures.
All were taken to the Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
Initial reports suggest a white Mazda SUV was turning left into Ruthven St, from Long St, when it collided with a blue Ford sedan.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said two fire crews also attended the scene, working to extract an unknown number of people from one of the vehicles.
“They’ve had to remove the side of one of the vehicles so they could extricate someone remaining in the car,” she said.
“They used cutting gear for that … and took the door off the drivers side of the vehicle.”
Initially, all lanes around the Ruthven St and Long St intersection were blocked, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
The lanes have since reopened to motorists and traffic is flowing again.
