Driver tested, 73-year-old critical after car hit pedestrian

POLICE have put the call out for witnesses or dashcam footage after a man was struck by a car in Gatton overnight.
Preliminary investigations suggest the 73-year-old man was crossing Old College Road when he was hit by a Toyota Corolla around 7.20pm.
The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed in a clearing close to where the man was struck.
Queensland Ambulance Service transported the man to the helicopter, and there the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic worked alongside local paramedics to stabilise him.
He had suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
The 66-year-old male driver of the sedan briefly left the scene to get help and returned a negative drug and alcohol test.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
