The distinctive roar of Harley-Davidson engines may have woken some Toowoomba residents from their sleep-in on Sunday morning, but it was all in the name of raising money for cancer patients across the region.
The annual Cruise for Cancer organised by Darling Downs Harley Owners Group saw 60 bikes – 90 riders and their pillions – take off early on Sunday morning from Queens Park to enjoy a ride through the picturesque Lockyer Valley culminating in lunch at the Fairways Tavern in Hattonvale.
The riders from the Downs, Gold and Sunshine Coasts were aiming to raise funds to sponsor a room at Cancer Council Queensland’s Olive McMahon Lodge in Toowoomba.
