Dami Im brings her solo tour to Toowoomba for one night only

With the majority of her east coast tour cancelled due to Covid restrictions, this X-Factor winner is thrilled to get back to the Garden City for heartwarming show.

Dami Im is bound for the Empire Theatre stage next weekend.

X-Factor winner and Eurovision sensation Dami Im is making her way to the Empire Church Theatre next Friday for an intimate show full of originals and covers straight from the songstress’s heart.

“It’s just going to be me and a piano,” Im said.

“This is my first ever solo tour, and after having most of my east coast shows cancelled due to Covid restrictions it’s a dream come true to finally be able to perform again.”

Since capturing Australia’s hearts in 2013 when she won The X Factor Australia, Dami Im has released a string of hit albums and singles such as Alive, Super Love and Gladiator as well as her quirky and meaningful new single, Lonely Cactus. She went onto become Eurovision Royalty in 2016 when she earned the highest score ever achieved by an Australian entry with her global smash hit Sound of Silence.

The Korean-born Queensland-based artist said she had fond memories of the Garden City after visiting the Carnival of Flowers with her family as a young girl.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to perform in Toowoomba a few times, including Easterfest in 2014, and it’s always nice to return because it brings back memories of all the beautiful gardens and the flower parades from my childhood,” she said.

“This is my first time performing at the Empire Theatre, and I am looking forward to getting the piece of myself back that I feel I’ve been missing with the cancellation of my shows.”

The ARIA chart topping singer said it was more important now than ever before to get behind the creative industries.

“Right now we all feel like we’re playing a never-ending waiting game, and unfortunately there are artists and creatines out there who are really struggling,” she said.

“Everyone needs to get out there and support our musicians and music industry as soon as they can so we can keep it alive.”

Dami Im will be performing at the Empire Church Theatre on Friday, August 20 from 7.30pm.
