The RSPCA is holding its first major charity golf day, raising funds for its Toowoomba Animal Care Centre.
Enterprise Legal RSPCA Charity Golf Day will be held at Toowoomba Golf Club Middle Ridge on Friday, May 28 from 10am – 3pm.
Solo golfers and teams are invited to take part for a fun day on the green, and help the RSPCA support local animals by getting the organisation one step closer to completing the vet hospital at the Toowoomba Animal Care Centre.
Attendees will also have a chance to meet some of the animals.
RSPCA Toowoomba community engagement officer Jillian Huth said they planned to make this annual event with the goal of raising $20,000.
“The funds will be directed to supporting the completion of our vet hospital at our Wellcamp centre. This facility enables RSPCA to have an onsite vet, bring greater services and care for the animals, and provide education opportunities,” she said.
“The Toowoomba Animal Care Centre has more than 200 animals in its care.
“They have come from different situations but all have something in common; they need to feel secure, receive care, food, shelter, and help to find their forever homes.
“While we receive around 3-4% in government funding, we reply heavily on the community to support the local centre.”
Tickets are available for single entrants, who will be put in a team or for teams of up to four players.
Tickets start from $180 and include a day of golf, a motorised cart, lunch and canapes.
