The Paddock Darling Downs celebrated its first birthday in style over the weekend with a joint celebration and fundraiser for a special little girl.
The new butchery have been supporting the Ross family since their two-year-old daughter Ellie was diagnosed with leukaemia at the start of the year.
“The Ross family are very near and dear to our hearts, we’ve had Karlie’s sisters Jamie and Dani working here for a while now and we want to help our family and community wherever we can,” owner Ted Ellison said.
“This birthday has been a good opportunity to come together, show our support for Ellie and her family and also acknowledge the great year we’ve had as a business too. It’s been a wonderful day all-round.”
The butchery’s chicken sausage fundraiser raised $3000 with all of the proceeds from Saturday’s jumping castle and face painting also going towards Ellie’s fight.
Mr Ellison revealed the butchery would soon be adding another feather to its cap, opening The Shed, a drive through coffee shop at the back of the butcher’s shop, on Monday, June 14 and already have plans to open a restaurant by the end of the year.
“I can’t give to much away about the restaurant yet so stay tuned for more information and details on these projects soon,” he said.
“It’s so beautiful to see so many members of the community come out to show their love and support for Ellie as well as all children who are battling cancer,” Mrs Ross said.
“We’ve received so many generous donations to the toy drive which is all going to The Delivery Box who take toys to sick children in hospital who are receiving treatment like Ellie.”
