You’ll have to wait a few more weeks to celebrate the best craft beer Toowoomba has to offer, with Brewoomba announcing it will shift from its Saturday, August 7 date due to the ongoing Covid outbreak.

Organisers of the beer festival posted on social media that the decision was made due to the lockdown in southeast Queensland.

But the good news is the event will return.

We are currently working through event logistics and liaising with our vendors to secure a new date,” organisers said.

“We will be in touch with all ticket holders in the coming days and we thank you for your patience.

“We hope you can understand the steps we’re taking to help keep our staff, vendors and guests safe to prevent the spread of the virus.”

Vendors from across Queensland and New South Wales were expected to make the trip up the range to showcase their top drops, including Stone & Wood, Moffat Beach Brewing Co and Balter.

Brewoomba was also canned in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It follows the cancellation of the Ekka on Monday morning.

Other events that have been cancelled or postponed due to the growing outbreak include the Toowoomba Eisteddfod, the Handmade Markets at Harristown State High School and the Homeless for a Week sleep-out.
