Bicycle Queensland is coming to town and Toowoomba residents are invited to a fun day out on two wheels as part of Parks Week.
The event celebrates getting out and getting active on a bike, with free guided rides to the city, bicycle safety checks, a beginner’s bike maintenance workshop, and education to support everyone to ride more confidently.
CEO of Bicycle Queensland Rebecca Randazzo said her team was excited to be visiting Toowoomba for this event.
“Whether you are new to cycling, a returning or existing rider, or would like help to start riding, pop by and say hi,” she said.
“We want to encourage people to ride for transport, for sport, for fun, to socialise, and to experience our culturally diverse community and natural environment.
“We’re also looking forward to sharing our Commuter Harmony Alliance with the Toowoomba community.”
This initiative is about creating a harmonious active transport or travel culture and Bicycle Queensland will be rewarding everyone who takes the Commuter Harmony Pledge on the day with a free coffee.
Toowoomba Regional Council infrastructure committee councillor Melissa Taylor said the council was proud to be a partner of the event.
“It will offer free guided commutes throughout Toowoomba, a bike maintenance workshop and bike safety checks. There are also free coffees available for those who take the pledge to be part of the Commuter Harmony Alliance,” she said.
Bike with Toowoomba will be held on Sunday, March 14 at Civic Square.
