Coming in at the second top spot was Liverpool with 16.4% growth, Cranbourne with 15.7% growth and Wyong with 15.1% growth.

According to the research Queensland women also spend the most on beauty, with an average of $989 spent annually.

This included splashing cash on beauty products, treatments and cosmetic procedures.

Plush Skin Body and Beauty owner Melitta Smith said she had also seen a surge in people not only pampering themselves with beauty products but also wanting to educate themselves on how care for their skin.

“We closed for eight weeks when Covid hit and of course due to economical impacts some clients couldn’t come back, but we have remained busy despite everything that happened last year, it’s really been non-stop,” she said.

“We promote the importance of self-care and have definitely seen an influx of people wanting to take care of themselves.

“There has been a huge growth and trend of people putting themselves first and maybe it’s because people aren’t spending money on holidays or things like that and they have some extra funds, or perhaps they’ve just decided it’s now time to get into a good skin care routine.

“A lot of people often say they don’t have time to take care of themselves but in the past 12-month period I’ve seen people making more of an effort which is great.”

Plush Skin Body and Beauty offers a range of services such as beauty and expert strength facials, advanced specialty facials, peels, microdermabrasion, waxing, tinting, manicures, pedicures, massages, lash extensions, spray tans, make up and formal hair.

“I’m an expert in their products and am big on educating people on how to look after their skin and why it’s so important,” she said.

“While I have the online shop, most people will come in and we can help navigate them to get the best products for them.”
