BCF Toowoomba: Company confirms when popular brand will open new store

The company that owns two popular national retail chains has confirmed when it will open its new stores in a recently completed multimillion-dollar development – and the future of its current locations.

The company behind the brands BCF and Supercheap Auto has confirmed both stores will relocate their CBD locations to a recently-completed retail centre on James St.

A spokeswoman from Super Retail Group, which owns both brands, said the new BCF would open its doors on October 7.

Supercheap will follow a month later on November 11.

BCF is currently located in the Centrepoint complex just a few hundred metres down the road, while the CBD Supercheap store is situated on Herries Street.

Hutchinson Builders had been busy constructing the three-store retail precinct on the corner of the highway and Neil Street since earlier this year.

The $6.5 million project from Motif Properties Pty Ltd is now finished, and signage has started to adorn two of the tenancies.

Hutchies team leader Sean Lees told The Chronicle earlier this year it was “exciting” to see an under-utilised section of James Street come to life.

“It’s gone through a number of potential uses in the past, but in terms of that activation, it will be fantastic to see it realised,” he said.

“It’s been under-utilised until now, so we’re grateful to be a part of it.”

A third tenancy at the James Street location currently has no confirmed tenant.

Super Retail Group refused to answer whether they would also occupy that third tenancy with one of its other two brands, Macpac and Rebel.
