Annette Scott named a Darling Downs Health chief executive
A familiar face has been officially named as the new Darling Downs Health chief executive, after her extensive work managing the Covid pandemic in the region.

After months acting in the role, Annette Scott has been announced as the new Darling Downs Health chief executive.
Darling Downs Health board chair Mike Horan AM said Ms Scott was selected after an extensive recruitment campaign.
“It is a big task for Annette, but she has proven herself for a number of years as one of our outstanding managers and executives,” he said.
“Before taking up acting role, for 18 months Annette was in charge of the Covid response for the entire Darling Downs.
“It was in this position that she demonstrated her formidable leadership and determination.
“We’re absolutely delighted that Annette has been appointed to this position, and we wish her all the best.”
Ms Scott said her previous experience in the private and public sectors both regionally and remotely would allow her to carry the position out to the best of her ability.
“I have been in the Darling Downs for numerous years and have been very committed to this community and region,” she said.
“I feel very grateful, honoured and privileged to be able to step into the role.”
Ms Scott said moving forward in the position, there was a focus on managing the industry during a transition out of Covid.
“One of the biggest challenges will be to try to balance so that we can still respond on behalf of our communities in a timely way with Covid outbreaks and as we transition into a new normal,” she said.
“However, still be able to deliver health services to what is an increasingly demanding environment.”
