THE development industry is one of the biggest areas covered and regulated by the Toowoomba Regional Council.
Whether it's a subdivision, new building or even just a renovation, the council's planning and development group assesses every proposal and its adherence to the planning scheme.

The council found the proposal generally complied with the planning scheme.
3. 93-99 HAMPTON ST, HARRISTOWN
Application: Request to Change Approval Retirement Facility
Applicant: PPV Toowoomba Land Pty Ltd
Submitted: 20/07/2020
Result: Approved
THE change of approval relates to the massive Seachange Toowoomba retirement village in Harristown, which is currently under construction in stages.
The applicant applied for a "minor change" to the current approved master plan, which would introduce four new housing typologies, as well as two facade options and minor alterations to approved dwelling layouts.
The council officers agreed the request constituted a minor change and approved it.
4. INTERNATIONAL DRIVE, WELLCAMP
Application: Stormwater
Applicant: Wagner Corporation
Submitted: 06/09/2019
Result: Approved
THIS operational works proposal was related to stormwater drainage works planned for Wagner Corporation's construction of the Qantas Pilot Academy and attached village.
The matter went through a process to get approved, with council officers asking for further information in October last year related to the stormwater design.
The stormwater works were approved with conditions attached.
5. 1 JANNUSCHS RD, GOWRIE MOUNTAIN
Application: Driveway Crossover
Applicant: Ivan Benko

THE council assessed a plan for a driveway crossover as part of a new house that was proposed by the applicant.
6. 9 STANLEY PDE, HIGHFIELDS
Application: Reconfigure one into seven lots
Applicant: Megan Jane Ford, Timothy Patrick Ford
Submitted: 06/03/2020
Result: Approved
THE application was for a subdivision of a 1.84-hectare block of land in a low-density residential zone.
All the new lots were equal to or above the minimum area requirements for the zoning.
However, the council sent an information request in April, wanting more details on stormwater management, wastewater treatment and disposal, and road truncation.
The development also created a new road off Stanley Pde, which all properties would access.
7. VARIOUS ROADS, JONDARYAN
Application: Request to Extend Period Boundary Realignment 18 into 18 Lots
Applicant: New Acland Coal, care of Tract Consultants
Submitted: 27/07/2020

THE applicant, who operates the New Acland Coal Mine, was granted an extension on an approval to reconfigure 18 lots in Jondaryan.
The original development permit, which would realign Jondaryan-Muldu Rd to facilitate the proposed expansion of the coal mine, was approved in 2016.
However, stage three is still in limbo.
The applicant has been granted another four years to act on the proposal.
