Doughnut lovers will have one last chance to dive into the finger-licking treats at Lady Hester before the pair behind the popular market stall shuts up shop.

The Tassie sisters, Loren and Erin Clarke, announced the “bittersweet” decision to end an 11-year journey after making “thousands and thousands of donuts” over Facebook on Sunday.

The deep fryers are set to run one last time this Saturday, April 12, at their Salamanca Market stall.

“To every person who has bought a doughnut, and supported our many and varied donut endeavours over the past 11 years — thank you, we appreciate every one of you,” the post said.

They thanked the many friends and family members who helped their doughnut mission, including their mum who navigated the notorious Battery Point’s Kelly’s steps with a pram carrying a grandchild and delivery of doughnuts to Winter Feast once in a time of need.

Lady Hester’s “brilliant” staff were also praised for keeping things running and vibes high.

“There are SO many highlights, it’s impossible to choose,” the sisters said.

The stall first started trading at Hobart’s Farm Gate Market before growing to cater other markets and events.

In 2020 Lady Hester opened a bakery at Battery Point before closing to return to its roots two years later.
