WITH three major Queensland projects almost wrapped up, Wagners is adjusting staffing levels this month to meet market demand.
"Construction at Wellcamp Airport is almost complete and our operations at Caval Ridge and Curtis Island are slowing down," said Wagners chairman John Wagner.
"This means we've been forced to adjust our domestic operations to bring us in-line with current trading conditions and, unfortunately, some of the project staff who were employed to work on these contracts will be finishing up with us."
Mr Wagner said the Toowoomba-based, family-owned company had taken every step to re-deploy staff where possible.
"We are a major employer in Australia and internationally and we are very proud of our long-standing employment record," Mr Wagner said.
"We're here for the long haul so these changes are essential to remain competitive in the marketplace."
Mr Wagner said the internal adjustment would not interrupt any of Wagners' other projects or supply chains.
Now in its 25th year, Wagners is an Australian global construction and mining services and materials company, employing more than 800 staff worldwide.
