Talk about Good Golly, Miss Molly!

Adelaide’s Molly Rose, who recently started as producer of Nova 919’s Jodie & Hayesy Breakfast Show got the shock of her life this morning when a “very, very special guest” called in.

The guest was none other than the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, but when he phoned in Molly didn't believe her ears.

Co-host Jodie Oddy shared the story while she and Hayesy interviewed him.

“Prime Minister, do you mind telling all our beautiful listeners exactly what just happened with producer Molly, who might have mistaken you for someone else?,” Jodie said, to which he replied: “Look, Molly was terrific. But I did say that it was myself on the phone and she basically put me on hold, didn’t believe it, thought it was a prank call. That’s okay. Good on you, Molly. The relationship’s off to a bad start.”

Molly then piped in with an “I’m sorry”, with Haysey explaining to the PM: “She thought you were a Fringe performer”.

The PM then reassured the producer, telling her: “It’s all gonna get better from here, Molly.”

Haysey couldn’t resist elaborating: “She thought you were a Fringe performer. And I think she came in and said, ‘Oh, you should hear this bloke, he does the worst Anthony Albanese’.”

To which the PM responded, “To be fair, you didn’t tell her that I was going to call in”, also adding: “Yes, I’m sticking up for you, Molly. I’m from the pro-worker Party”.

Jodie then told the PM it was Molly’s first week on the job, joking, “So, can you tell?” to which the PM again answered by addressing the newbie at the station: “Molly, I’m sure you’re enjoying it and any complaints, just give us a call. You’ve got my number now.”

At the end of the interview which included serious news of the day and banter about sport, the PM had this to say: “I might never speak to Nova Adelaide again. You’re saved by the fact that I have a soft spot for anyone called Jodie”.

As Haysey noted, the PM was referring to his fiancee Jodie Haydon.
