In witness footage shared with 7NEWS, the 33-year-old Smithfield woman was seen driving erratically on Peachey Rd between Davoren Park and Smithfield before crashing the black Holden Caprice into the kerb.
Bursting a tyre, the woman attempted to leave the scene on foot but was swiftly stopped and arrested by police who had been called by bystanders.
The driver was arrested and charged with driving unlicensed, failure to state name and address, failure to stop at the scene of a crash, hindering police and speeding dangerously.
Her car was towed from the scene with accident damage.
