A humble father-of-two has been revealed as the good Samaritan who took down a man alleged to have assaulted a mother in front of her child.
The shocking incident occurred on Rundle Mall on Sunday afternoon when a 43-year-old mother from North Adelaide was allegedly chased and struck by a stranger as her child watched on in fear.
The alleged offender has since been identified as Scott Michael Antrobus.

He was stopped in his tracks by a man known as ‘Sang’ who was sitting with his family in the mall watching buskers before he heroically hip-and-shouldered the alleged offender, flooring him instantly.
“I saw the guy coming, by the time I knew we were pretty close, so I just threw that elbow and jumped towards him,” the father told 7NEWS Adelaide.
“If anything I’m more worried about the victim.
“Hopefully she’s alright.”
Following the take-down, scores of bystanders jumped on Mr Antrobus to subdue him before police arrived.
A witness told 7NEWS Adelaide the mother was screaming for help before she was allegedly attacked.
“This lady just started screaming for help and we noticed this guy just running up to her and her daughter and hitting them in the back of the head,” a witness named Ebony said.
“I ran up to the lady to make sure she was okay while the rest of the public pinned this guy to the ground.”
Mr Antrobus appeared at Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday where his lawyer told the court her client would not be seeking bail.
He was charged with one count each of assault, hindering police and refusing to provide his name and address.
He is also alleged to have been in possession of an ice pipe at the time of his arrest.
Mr Antrobus was remanded in custody to face court again in April.
