Mercedes goes up in flames in suspected arson attack at Semaphore South

Police are investigating a suspected arson attack after a man was left to use a garden hose to extinguish a burning Mercedes Benz.

Police are investigating a suspected arson attack in Adelaide’s west as a Mercedes Benz went up in flames on Monday morning.

Police were called to Robin Rd, Semaphore South, about 1.20am after reports of a car fire.

The patrol arrived to find a victim – a 45-year-old man – had managed to extinguish the blaze with a garden hose, but the Mercedes Benz was extensively damaged.

Police searched the area but did not find any suspects, while Crime Scene investigators are due at the scene on Monday morning to assist investigations.
