A man who allegedly exposed himself and solicited sex from women in Adelaide’s west has warrants out for his arrest interstate.
Paul John Trompp faced the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court via video link on Wednesday where he applied for bail.
But the 43-year-old, who is currently homeless, had to be removed from the video link part way through the hearing after yelling and repeatedly interrupting.
Mr Trompp has been charged with two counts of indecent behaviour after allegedly asking two female retail workers for sex on two separate occasions in Findon last month.
The court heard Mr Trompp was seen with his hand down his pants by a staff members outside of a Grange Road shop last Friday.
Prosecution said he walked towards the entrance and when the woman asked him what he was doing, he told her “I’ll pay you $50 for sex”.
In a similar incident on March 14, he allegedly solicited another woman working at a different Grange Road shop in Findon and exposed himself to her.
“She asked the accused to leave, he said c’mon a few times and eventually left,” prosecution said.
He was arrested in Findon around 7.30pm on Tuesday.
Prosecution told the court Mr Trompp earlier stated he may have committed the offence but he doesn’t remember.
The court heard Mr Trompp has a criminal history in South Australia as well as outstanding warrants in Victoria and Western Australia for separate matters.
Prosecution said he was found guilty for offences including basic assault at the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court last year.
The court heard the alleged fresh offences were in breach of that suspended sentence.
Questions around his mental health were raised in the hearing however a nurse said she would have deemed him fit for custody. Magistrate Briony Kennewell refused his application for bail, citing an absence of a bail address and a risk of reoffending among the reasons for the decision. Mr Trompp will return to court in May.
Earlier on Wednesday, Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said they were investigating if the man was also responsible for assaulting a woman during her morning run last week in Brompton.
“I don’t have any information to confirm whether or not they are linked (the two incidents) but we are investigating,” he said.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed a similar incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
