'Someone will be killed' at this Toowoomba bus stop

THE number 6 bus stop at Wilsonton shops is a danger to the elderly and disabled people and small children of Wilsonton, who do not have any other way to get around the city except by bus.

A lot of aged, disabled and disadvantaged people do not have the money available to use taxis.

This number 6 bus stop has close traffic on three sides, a Woolworth service station behind it, and smokers standing around it, and not a pedestrian crossing in sight.

There is a strong smell of petrol fumes when the wind is blowing from the east, which seems to be frequently at Wilsonton.

The poor elderly with respiratory problems sit gasping for breath, caused by the foul air.

I took up this problem up with the Toowoomba council some years back and was told that both number 5 and 6 bus stops were the best location. Wrong.

Both buses come onto or down Richmond Dr and that is where the bus stop should be.

Both buses could use the same stop and enter Bridge Sts.

I believe if number 6 bus stop stays where it is, a person will be injured or killed.
