Further details have emerged surrounding the alleged assault that occurred in the region, that left several people injured and requiring hospitalisation.

Police have alleged a 23-year-old male was involved in a physical altercation with another patron at the premises of a licenced venue on Patrick St, in Laidley.

The man reportedly turned on another male patron who attempted to intervene.

Picking up a wooden implement, the man in question has allegedly proceeded to strike the other man with the item, causing it to break.

A security officer then restrained the man and attempted to remove him from the premises as a result, but the man continued to resist before he allegedly assaulted the venue’s staff member.

Several other people entered the kitchen and attempted to intervene, when the man allegedly stabbed a 26-year-old man in the arm with the knife.

Witnesses allege the man lunged at others with the knife, before it escalated into another physical altercation and a 31-year-old man was also stabbed in the process.

Police arrived on scene and restrained the man in the kitchen, but it is alleged he continued to resist arrest.
