“(Opening a guesthouse) has always been something I’ve been interested in doing, but I never had the facilities to do it,” she said.

“When we purchased this house, there was an old garage in the yard so we transformed it into a new Airbnb.”

In a heartfelt gesture, the property owner has also named the guesthouse after her loving dad Carolus Kenter, who has always inspired her in many ways.

“He’s always been a great support to me, and it’s been such a lovely time to share this moment with my dad,” Ms Cook said.

Located on the edge of the subtropical Ravensbourne National Park, Kenti’s Escape will be listed on the Airbnb website and taking bookings from March 11.

Offering guests a spacious, self-contained studio with modern and elegant features, the area covers about 50 sqm.

The space features one bedroom, separate toilet and bathroom and a fully-functional kitchenette with a microwave, fridge, gas cooktop and coffee machine included.

“When we bought it, the property was quite old so it did take a lot of work,” Ms Cook said.

“Renovations would have usually taken about six months, but we started them when the trades shortages started, so it ended up taking us about 18 months to complete.”

The home stay’s prime location is also near new wedding and function venue The Dairy, which is set to open in the coming months.

Rates are $275 per night.
