IT IS a barber's job to groom their clients to perfection.

They not only have to style hair but also give wet shave treatments and male facials.

The Chronicle asked readers where was the best barber shop in Toowoomba.

Joel's Salon de Men was voted number one, with voters praising their clean cuts.

Joel's Salon de Men

JOEL'S Salon de Men has been serving Toowoomba men for eight years.

The salon specialises in professional hair cuts for men, in classic and contemporary trends, beard and moustache trims, shaves, scalp and skincare treatments.

Co-owner Susan Watson said the salon focused on traditional barber skills.

"Everyone who works here has a passion for what they do and it shows in our work," she said.

"We can do up to 40 haircuts a day each here so we are very trained in styling men.

"I'm really happy and grateful people took the time to vote for us. It is nice to hear such good feedback.

WITH five locations around Toowoomba, Bou's For Men is one of the city's most popular barbershop.

Bou's For Men describes itself as much more than an average barber shop.

Between the Toowoomba stores they help hundreds of men, women and children look their best each week.

Bridge St Barber Shop

DENIS Hanrahan has worked in the same store for almost 50 years.

He followed in his father's footsteps and became a barber.

Mr Hanrahan works at the Bridge St Barber Shop.

He said although he had been around for a long time he was still up to date with all the modern cuts and shaves.

"I'm almost 70 and one of the last barbers who did an apprenticeship in an actual barber shop," he said.

"I have no plans to retire anytime soon. I love my job all my customers are my mates."
