The up-section is expected to remain closed for several hours as authorities work to remove the burnt-out wreckage.

The truck burst into flames about 12.50pm just west of the saddle.

It is believed to be carrying urea.

12.55PM: A truck is on fire on the up-section of the Toowoomba Range, according to police reports.

The fire was reported about 12.50pm. The driver escaped from the truck without injury.

The truck is hauling urea.

It is located just west of the saddle.

Emergency services have arrived at the scene to find the truck "fully engulfed".

The up-section is currently closed. The down-section will be closed at times to allow emergency services access to the fire.
