An elderly woman has died of injuries she sustained in a single-vehicle accident in Caboolture on May 16.
The 84-year-old was travelling northbound on Brown St when she veered off the road and struck the Perry Irwin Bridge.
She was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where she died on Sunday.
Queensland police are continuing to investigate the incident and are expected to submit a report to the coroner.
It comes as police appeal for public information after an alleged drink-driver struck a pedestrian in Eastern Heights, Ipswich, on Saturday.
Police will allege that a 39-year-old Greenbank man drove his blue-grey 2006 Holden Commodore into a pedestrian on Rex Road about 7.30pm, before fleeing the scene and later crashing the vehicle.
The victim, a 42-year-old Eastern Heights man, was transported to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital with spinal injuries.
The alleged driver faces one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, driver fail to remain at incident and render assistance showing callous disregard for the needs of a person injured, driving of a motor vehicle without a driver's licence, and serious assault of a police officer.
The man was expected to face Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday.
