Team Whitsundays Dancing CEOs are encouraging locals to “mask up to make a difference” at their next fundraiser, a very special Masquerade Gala Ball.
The event on 15 March would raise funds and awareness for Women’s Legal Service Queensland an organisation which they said is assisting women to escape abusive situations and rebuild their lives.
One of the Dancing CEO’s Candice Crossley said the theme not only inspired ideas of black-tie-elegance, sophistication, and mystery but also had added symbolism that was incredibly relevant to their cause.
“It’s not lost on us that many women impacted by domestic violence continually mask the horrors they endure and put on a brave face for the rest of the world,” she said.
“By collectively masking up ourselves on March 15, we therefore honour these women and play a part in re-shaping their futures by empowering them with access to the supports they need to regain control.”
Kate Purdie, Candice Crossley, Julie Telford, and Dr Alice Harriott, have teamed up as North Queensland’s first Dancing CEOs, bravely heading to Brisbane’s City Hall in May to take the stage to support the prevention of domestic violence.
When guests arrive at Shute Harbour Marine Terminal for the gala ball the Dancing CEOs say they will be met by an atmosphere of glitz, glamour, and the joy of heartfelt giving.
Attendees can enjoy freshly shucked oysters and seafood canapes, flowing drinks, and incredible music by local musician Josiah before sitting down for a delectable dinner, then dance the night away with live performances from four-piece band The Mojo.
Live and silent charity auctions will also provide entertainment for the night with full-day superyacht experiences, axe throwing adventures with NRL legend, Brett Tate, Heron Island turtle hatching holidays, private dinner at Parliament House, and so much more on offer.
And they said to make sure you get a raffle ticket to go into the running to win a luxury five-night bareboat charter aboard a brand-new Longreach 44 power catamaran.
Julie Telford said creating the charity gala had only been possible thanks to the generous contributions of an army of sponsors donating to the night.
“It has taken not just a village but an entire community to produce an event of this calibre, so we encourage anyone who has not yet bought a ticket to do so before the cut-off at 10pm next Wednesday, March 12, and join us in making this a sellout
success,” she said.
Jaclyn Watson said with so much on offer it was an event not to be missed.
“The fact that the winner of this raffle will walk away with the holiday of a lifetime for as little as the $50 ticket price is incredible in itself, but what really matters to us is that everyone who has entered will have made a truly meaningful impact to the lives of thousands of women and children in Queensland simply by doing so,” she said.
Tickets cost $250 and are available here while raffle tickets can be purchased here.
