Whitsunday Police are asking residents to come forward with CCTV footage or information on night-time “prowlers” recently spotted in the Jubilee Pocket area.
Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Nathan Blain said police had received multiple reports of unknown people hanging around cars and houses in the suburb “particularly at night” and urged residents to be vigilant about protecting their belongings.
Sergeant Blain said no break-ins had been reported, but one particularly “concerning” incident, captured on a resident’s CCTV cameras on October 8, was a person walking around someone’s yard at 4am wearing only underwear.
“We’re asking people to lock up their cars and homes and if they have any CCTV footage, to contact police,” he said.
