Drink-driving busts

Bowen Police busted four alleged drink-drivers in the past seven days, all of them local residents.

A 22-year-old man on a probationary licence allegedly blew 0.022 blood alcohol concentration on the Bruce Highway on April 22.

A 31-year-old man allegedly returned a reading of 0.114 per cent at Horseshoe Bay on April 23.

A 35-year-old woman allegedly blew 0.058 per cent on Crofton Street on Anzac Day.

And a 24-year-old male blew 0.071 on the Bruce Highway on April 27.

The drivers will face Bowen Magistrates Court at a later date.

Break-ins

Reports of burglaries also kept police busy last week.

A handbag and bottles of liquor were snatched from a home in John Street on April 25.

And on April 23, a home on Carey Street sustained damage to doors and windows in a suspected break-in, however nothing was stolen.

Acting officer-in-charge Ryan Gregory urged residents to always lock up their homes and vehicles when unattended to minimise the risk of becoming a target.
