Police are investigating after a man called in his own shooting at Bowen overnight.
Emergency services were called to the Bowen Hospital carpark on Gregory St at 1.14am to reports the man had been shot in the arm.
He was taken into the hospital and treated.
On Saturday, a Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed officers were told the man had attended Bowen Hospital with the injury, and after discussion with him, went to an address on Christison St.
Initial investigations suggest the man suffered a non-life-threatening injury believed to be caused by a shotgun.
He was in a stable condition and police said there was no ongoing threat to public safety but urged anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact police.
This comes less than a week after a shooting in Rockhampton that left another man, 31, in the hospital.
He was shot in the upper leg on December 3 by what police believe to be a small-calibre gun and was taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.
More to come.
