The driver of a car that turned into the path of an oncoming car was under the influence of drugs, police allege.
Police were called to the two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Shute Harbour Road and Galbraith Drive at Cannonvale about 6.25pm Friday, July 23.
Whitsunday police Sergeant Gary Hiles said no-one suffered any injuries in the collision between a Toyota sedan and a LandCruiser.
He said investigations indicated a Bloomsbury man, 45, was driving the sedan when it turned onto Shute Harbour Road and collided with a LandCruiser travelling towards Airlie Beach.
He said the sedan driver allegedly returned a positive roadside drug test and was taken to the Whitsunday police station where a second allegedly positive test was recorded.
Sergeant Hiles said the man was charged with drive without due care and attention, and drive with a relevant drug in his system.
The man is scheduled to appear in the Proserpine Magistrates Court on September 20.
