Bowen’s newest restaurant is sure to wow visitors who will soon be able to experience their mouth watering meals overlooking the breathtaking Coral Sea.

Located at Flagstaff Hill, 360 on the Hill will be a modern Australian–Italian fusion restaurant which promises to see the venue transform throughout the day.

For breakfast and lunch, seven days a week, they will operate as a cafe serving light meals made with fresh local ingredients.

That includes the famous Bowen mangoes, fresh strawberries from Mt Dangar farm, and seafood straight from Bowen’s waters.

On Friday and Saturday nights they will evolve into a full dining restaurant offering a taste of Italy in Bowen, featuring home made pizza, pasta and desserts.

Whitsunday Regional Council Mayor, Ry Collins, said he was thrilled to be announcing that Flagstaff Hill was undergoing such a remarkable transformation.

“Reactivating Flagstaff Hill is a fantastic opportunity to boost local economic growth, attract visitors, and offer our residents a unique, high-quality dining experience,” he said.

“360 on the Hill will not only showcase our stunning coastal views but will also serve as a dynamic function space that can cater for events and also celebrate local produce and innovative Italian fusion cuisine.”

New tenants, NKM Enterprises, will hold a three year lease and bring with them a background of hospitality experience.

The restaurant will be located at the $4m Flagstaff Hill complex which opened in March 2021, rebuilt from scratch after the existing building was destroyed by Cyclone Debbie.

360 on the Hill will be at the heart of the redevelopment and Division 6 Councillor, John Finlay, said it was an easy decision.

“By breathing new life into Flagstaff Hill, we’re revitalising a key community asset, enhancing tourism, and providing a much-needed social hub for Bowen,” he said.

The news of the new tenants has been a long time coming after it was announced in late 2023 that the cafe would close after only a year of operation.

360 on the Hill is set to open before Easter.
